I couldn't stop licking my black pearls-one by one-as I read 'Lucky with Jamie' over and over and over again .... couldn't even get to Becki nor Georgia but, it'll happen.
Hey, I was just looking up everyone's names on this abstract to see what other school activities they've been a part of (not stalking) and I came across your post here. Let me just say that I know exactly how you feel, or rather felt. I quit FB two months ago and all my friends were confounded, asking "Why would you do such a thing?" as if it were some kind of slap in the face to them. "How are we ever going to talk?" My answer was, "Face to face, like we used to do. Email if necessary." :)
Anyway, thought your post really hit home!
For people who like "Miss in Polish", there is a mini-book version available for perusal over at the Curbside Splendor site.
Just follow this link: http://www.curbsidesplendor.com/curbside/blog/piano-rats-mini-free-version
I really love this poem.
Can you help me understand these parts:
the mothers standing on the thinness of a flute
and the fear of invaders of memories
and also this part:
and the fear of tyrants of the song
how do these phases relate to what makes life worth living,
thanks so much
Hi,
I just want to say that I read the translation in English (being a Spanish native speaker), and to me the English translation reflects something else than the Spanish version, or let's say, I interpret it very differently. The poem looses its deep meaning in the English version.
Thanks, Erika..if you would like to translate it again, I would love to read it!
Wow! What an incredible piece! A goat doing what a goat does!! Excellent!!!
Terrific paper. Is it published? I'm working on a PhD on Cocteau and sexuality in his religious work and would love to use it if possible.
Feel free to quote anything on As It Ought to Be; merely cite the magazine as any normal online publication. And thanks for reading.

I,too, loved the line, 'After I am scattered/Let it be said that/I ate joy!' Beats Frida's line which may be slightly paraphrased: 'May the end be joyful and may I never return ,' though one often can relate!
